Six months after its initial announcement the new Canal+ joint venture streaming platform goes live today (Tuesday).
The offer, with partner A1 Telekom Austria, features a mix of European films and series, international blockbusters and local productions. As previously reported in Broadband TV News this will also include content from KinoweltTV, Filmtastic and Starzplay, and original productions produced by Canal in France and Poland.
The service will also provide access to a large catalogue of Austrian film and series content, positioning itself as a strong alternative to the American platforms present on the market.
Up to three simultaneous streams on five devices in Full HD quality will be possible. The Canal+ app will be available for iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and all major smart TV brands. The service will also be accessed directly via the browser at canalplus.at.
The accompanying new linear channel Canal+ First will be available in the TV offerings of A1 Xplore TV and HD Austria – a DTH satellite platform owned by CANAL+ Group following the acquisition of operator M7 in 2019.
