Over 320,000 people in Poland visited the HBO Max website or downloaded the HBO Max application and watched video on any device on the service’s launch day on March 8.
This, according to Nielsen Media, was roughly twice the 146,000 that accessed HBO Go on the first seven days of the month.
TV was the main way of accessing HBO Max (68%), compared to 56% in the case of HBO Go. It was followed by smartphones (17%, compared to 27% for HBO Go), computers (14%, compared to 16%) and tablets (1% each).
Commenting on HBO Max’s performance, Michal Buszko, client team and advanced measurement manager at Nielsen Media, said: “However, it is not the first day that will be crucial for the new platform, but the following days. We will be curious to observe the streaming results of this platform in the long term and the changes taking place among viewers who are more and more willing to choose the streaming offer”.
