Spain is likely to pass the threshold of 13 million FTTH lines early this year.
Data published by the regulator CNMC says that as of the end of January the total stood at 12.8 million, with the number increasing by 70,229 during the month.
Movistar accounted for the most lines, its 4.9 million equivalent to 37.9% of the total.
Compared to January 2021, the number of FTTH lines was 1.2 million higher, while the number of DSL lines was down by 0.5 million.
CNMC notes that Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono) accounted for 78.7% of all fixed broadband lines as of this January, four percentage points less than a year earlier.
