BritBox, the international streaming service run by the BBC and ITV, is looking to extend its service to Austria.
The partners have signalled their intention to the Austrian competition authority BWB.
Britbox made its debut in the United States in 2017 with a mix of classic shows from the British broadcasters including EastEnders, Coronation Street, Spitting Image, Brideshead Revisited and Doctor Who. Canada followed in 2018, with a UK launch taking place in 2019.
A launch in Scandinavia is planned in 2022.
