Slovakia’s Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission (RVR) has awarded a national digital TV channel licence to Mac TV.
It will allow the latter to operate a news channel named Joj 24, which according to local reports will allocate 80% of its output to news and the remaining 20% to journalism.
Mac TV already operates the Joj portfolio of channels, including the flagship Joj TV and thematic Joj Plus, Wau and Jojko.
Slovakia is currently served by the news channels TA3 and RTVS 24, with viewers also able to receive Czech and other foreign news channels.
