Netflix has no plans at present to offer a streaming option that includes advertising.
However, speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference and quoted by Reuters, its CFO Spencer Neumann added that it could not rule out doing so at some stage in the future.
He also said that the company, though aware of other streaming services introducing advertising, was focused on building its current business for customers who want to watch movies and TV shows without commercials.
Significantly, Neumann also said that Netflix sees 2022 as a “learning year” for its venture into mobile games.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Disney+ plans to introduce an ad-supported subscription offer on its Disney+ streaming service in late 2022,
Meanwhile, Netflix took its first step in launching games on mobile last November.
