Netflix has said it will not carry Russian state channels in the country, defying a law that comes into effect today (Tuesday, March 1).
According to CNN Business, quoting a statement received from the company, the action has been taken due to the current situation, namely Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The law applies to media platforms that have more than 100,000 subscribers in Russia and requires them to distribute around 20 FTA Russian news and entertainment channels.
