The EBU’s Executive Board has suspended representatives from its three Russian Members from serving in its governance groups.
Delegates from RTR, Channel One and RDO will no longer participate in the broadcast union’s Executive Board and all Statutory Committees.
The broadcasters had already indicated their intention to pull out of the organisation following last week’s decision to exclude Russia from the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in the light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, the Geneva-based organisation is still awaiting their formal confirmation.
In a statement, the EBU said the suspension would remain in force until further notice.
