Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has decided to delete a number of Russian channels from the register of permitted TV services in the country.
As a result, RT (Russia Today), RT Documentary, RTR Planeta, Soyuz TV and Rossiya 24 will no longer be allowed to be distributed by cable networks and satellite and internet platforms.
KRRiT says the move comes as a response to the commencement of hostilities by the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
Broadband TV News notes that the incumbent telco Orange has already confirmed to the local media that it has already withdrawn the Russian channels from its offer, while the public broadcaster TVP has withdrawn Russian programmes.
