TVN7 secures new licence

Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has awarded the TVN Discovery entertainment channel TVN7 a 10-year licence.

Its members voted 4-1 in favour, only days before the current licence was due to expire and over a year after TVN Discovery had applied for a new licence.

Broadband TV News notes that last week KRRiT’s chairman Witold Kolodziejski issued a statement outlining the reasons the regulator was holding back on awarding TVN7 a licence.
