Karolina Stallwood becomes new head of SVT International

February 21, 2022 11.04 Europe/London By Julian Clover

SVT has named Karolina Stallwood as the new head of SVT International, which buys acquired content for the public broadcaster.

Most recently, Ms Smallwood was Senior Director Entertainment, All Brands, ViacomCBS Networks International Nordics, where she was responsible for the launch of the Paramount Network and Paramount+ in the Nordic region.

Previously, she worked as head of scheduling and buying and director of content at MTG Sweden. She was previously based in London where she has worked for Channel 4, Channel 5, Comedy Central UK and the BBC, among others.

“This really is a dream job for me. SVT has a world-class offering and to be able to continue to deliver a wide, high-quality range of entertainment with the very best programmes bought in is both incredibly enjoyable and an important mission. I look forward to contributing my experience and being part of an extremely competent team,” Ms Smallwood says.

“I am so happy that Karolina has decided to accept this job. Purchased content is important, for SVT and for the audience, and the competition has become fierce. Karolina has the experience and energy needed to ensure that the most exciting series will continue to come to us in the future,” says Eva Beckman, SVT’s Director of Programming.

Ms Stallwood will also be part of the programme management team. She will take up her position on 1 May.
