Further details have emerged of the cyberattacks that hit Slovenia’s Pro Plus and A1’s operation in Croatia earlier this month.
N1 reports that in the case of Pro Plus the hackers obtained data collected through a recruiting system for shows. They also gained access to data on those who had registered to watch their shows – Pro Plus is the operator of Pop TV and Kanal A, Slovenia’s two leading commercial TV stations – as well as data on applications for employment.
Pro Plus adds that the data of users registered on their online services is secure. It also cannot yet estimate the full extent of the attack.
Pro Plus was targeted on February 8 and a criminal investigation is still ongoing. The following day A1 Croatia was also the victim of a cyberattack. According to Croatian media, the suspect was arrested and his equipment confiscated.
Unconfirmed sources say he was a minor and demanding around half a million dollars in cryptocurrency.
