MTS and Gazprom-Media strike partnership

February 16, 2022 10.20 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Russia’s MTS and the Gazprom-Media sales house have entered into a strategic partnership under which the Match Premier subscription will be available to MTS customers on special terms.

The subscription allows viewers to watch live and exclusively all matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL), Russian Cup and RPL friendly games, as well as reviews of the German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1. It will be included in the “We are MTS” and “We are MTS+” starter packages at no additional cost and will be available to new subscribers of these subscriptions. Everyone will be able to connect Match Premier for free for 30 days, including those who have already connected to it before. After the end of the promo period, the cost will be R299 (€3.47) a month.

Commenting on the partnership, Ekaterina Veselkova, general director of the Gazprom-Media sales house, said:
“We are pleased to present the joint result of our strategic cooperation. Now the Match Premier content is available to all users of the MTS ecosystem. This decision is going beyond the usual commercial interaction with partners”.

Vyacheslav Nikolaev, President of MTS, added: “The strategic partnership with the leading Russian media holding is another step towards the development of our subscription model, which combines partner and proprietary services of the MTS ecosystem. Live broadcasts of popular sports competitions are an integral part of a high-quality media product; fans watch them on a regular basis, and the mass audience connects during iconic football forums and the most important matches of top championships. We certainly look forward to attracting new customers through a unique offer that combines communication services for the whole family and entertainment services, which have been replenished with an excellent sports channel”.
