The YouView online platform has lost its chief executive to one of its major shareholders.
Susie Buckridge is to leave the company to take up a new role as head of product services at TalkTalk.
YouView was established as a platform to integrate the catchup services of the public broadcasters. However, regulators were concerned the set-up might give too much power to the broadcasters, even though they later faced a more powerful competitor in US streaming services such as Netflix.
Subsequently, BT and TalkTalk came into the shareholder group and used YouView as the platform for their fledgling IPTV services. Amid shareholder disagreements, Freeview Plus gave the PSBs a platform for their catchup services, and TV manufacturers became inclined to adopt that system rather than YouView.
Last year, transmission company Arqiva pulled its investment from both YouView and the Freeview DTT platform.
Ms Buckridge was at YouView for 12 years having previously been head of strategy at the BBC.
