German pay-TV channel Spiegel TV Wissen will change its name to Curiosity Channel on May 2, 2022.
The channel name will carry the addition Powered by Spiegel until viewers have “understood and accepted the transition”, according to a statement.
The rebranding is part of the partnership with US streaming service CuriosityStream announced in July 2021.
Curiosity Channel powered by Spiegel will continue to show programme content from its shareholders Autentic and Spiegel TV under the tagline ‘The new entertainment brand for people who want to know more’, with the addition of programmes from Curiosity. The new partner will also become a shareholder.
Some titles will be available in Ultra HD; details will be announced at a later date.
