Telecom Italia confirms top managers

February 3, 2022 12.46 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Telecom Italia (TIM) has appointed Claudio Ongaro head of the chief strategy and business development office and Simon De Rose head of the procurement function, effective immediately.

Both the managers, who until now held the position on an interim basis, will report directly to Pietro Labriola, CEO and general manager of the group.

TIM notes that Ongaro and De Rose hold 34,756 and 39,489 shares in the company respectively.

Ongaro joined TIM in November 2019 as M&A manager, coordinating the group’s extraordinary transactions. In April 2021 he took on the role of wholesale market manager and in December 2021 he was appointed interim manager of the chief strategy & business development office.

Meanwhile, De Rose, after joining TIM in 2001, he became head of information technology for TIM and Telecom Italia for the development and maintenance of consumer, business, and wholesale CRM systems and billing & credit management systems. He also held the position of head of architectures, client management and subsequently of the digital services solutions department.

Since 2019, he has been head of procurement for IT and ICT business purchases. In December 2021, he was appointed interim head of the entire procurement department.
