The carriage agreement includes the free-TV channel Sport1 HD as well as the pay-TV channels Sport1+ HD and eSports1 HD. In addition to the linear channels, viewers will be able to use interactive features such as 7-day replay, restart, recording (nPVR) and pause/play.
“Thanks to the cooperation with Ocilion, we are making further progress in expanding the distribution of our German-language free and pay-TV channels. Our new partner is strongly positioned in the market as an innovative provider of end-to-end IPTV solutions. The resulting distribution opportunities via network operators will particularly benefit sports-loving customers, for whom we will jointly put together top-class sports packages,” said Andreas Gerhardt, Chief Distribution Officer of Sport1.
Thomas Bichlmeir, Head of Content at Ocilion, added: “Through the agreement with Sport1 we further expand the sports offer for our customers. Network operators can easily provide the channels with our IPTV solution and offer fans a true variety of content: from top football to ice hockey and from motorsports to eSports.”
