Watch4 adds documentaries to AVOD service

February 2, 2022 10.29 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

The advertising-financed video-on-demand (AVOD) portal Watch4 has added a variety of documentaries to its service.

The documentaries can be accessed free of charge via Watch4’s smart TV and smartphone/tablet apps, as well as directly on the web at www.watch4.com in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other countries.

“We are delighted to expand our catalogue to include outstanding documentaries on a wide range of topics – from formative chapters in German history and the rise of major brands to dazzling personalities and their unknown sides,” said Philipp Rotermund, founder and CEO of Watch4 operating company Video Solutions AG. “In the coming months, we will be adding further attractive content to our portfolio.”

The documentaries include productions focusing on Germany’s best-known advertising agency Jung von Matt, the rise and fall of former Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Middelhoff, the history of legendary German sports car manufacturer Porsche and the friendship between Hollywood star Steve McQueen and German actor Siegfried Rauch.
