Vodafone lost a total of 88,000 TV customers across Europe in the year ending December 31, 2021.
Latest results published by the company show that it had a total of 18,333,000, down from 18,421,000 a year earlier. In Germany, Vodafone ended what was Q3 20/21 with 13,305,000 TV customers, down from 13,418,000 a year earlier, while in Spain it has 1,521,000, compared to 1,564,000. The company notes that in both countries net additions for Q1 22/22 reflected for the first time the inclusion of OTT and boxless TV customers.
Meanwhile in Italy, the number of TV customers at the end of Q3 21/22 stood at 287,000, compared to 302,000 a year earlier, and in Portugal 796,000 (735,000).
In the rest of Europe, which includes the former UPC operations in Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania, the total was 2,424,000, compared to 2,402,000 a year earlier.
Vodafone also says net additions for Q2 21/22 exclude a base clean-up of 10,000 customers.
Broadband TV News notes that Vodafone suffered its biggest loss of TV customers in Q3 21/22, shedding 116,000 across Europe.
The results do not include VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands.
