Thomas the Tank Engine and his Friends are steaming into Europe as part of the development of Cartoonito in the region.
WarnerMedia’s preschool brand is launching as a linear channel across EMEA. It already exists as a linear channel in the UK, where Cartoonito built its audience share in 2021, in Italy and, as a programming block in the Middle East and Turkey, will debut a new look in these regions alongside a growing slate of new and library series and exciting global acquisitions set to launch across EMEA. Last autumn, a branded block launched on HBO Max in the Nordics.
The programming slate also includes Lucas the Spider (pictured), Little Ellen, Mush, and Mush and the Mushables.
Vanessa Brookman, Senior Vice President, Kids & Family EMEA for WarnerMedia said: “Cartoonito’s EMEA rollout builds the brand’s global presence and reaffirms our commitment to our preschool audience. With a truly educational philosophy at its heart, the brand offers a safe space where preschoolers are free to be themselves in all their unique, unfiltered glory. We are excited to introduce Cartoonito’s diverse, authentic and relatable storytelling to a new generation of kids and their parents.”
The Cartoonito brand launched in the United States in September.
