The Polish TV production company Astro will launch a news channel on February 1.
According to the company, News24 will beginning technical broadcasts at 07.00 and in the coming weeks distribution contracts will be signed with TV operators. It adds that part of the funding for launching News24 has been obtained from ASI Tech Tier Investment, which acquired E shares worth a total of PLN1 million (€218,000).
Speaking to local media, Astro’s president Ryszard Krajewski said News24 will be fully operational in mid-February.
Astro was launched 16 years ago and produces entertainment programmes for the leading Polish broadcasters TVP, Polsat and TVN.
