The Czech incumbent O2 is still unable to provide a launch date for the updated version of its TV platform.
Quoting company spokeswoman Katerina Miksovska, Lupa reports that the delay is partly due to the pandemic and the impact it has had on suppliers, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
It adds that O2 TV customers will only be transferred to the new platform once everything is “perfectly prepared and finely tuned”.
The process will involve nearly 600,000 subscribers and several million devices.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the re-launch of O2 TV was put back last August to sometime this year.
The most recent results published by O2 show that it had a total of 586,000 IPTV and OTT subscribers in the Czech Republic at the end of Q3 2021.
