NENT Group’s streaming service Viaplay has experienced blackouts in Poland during the coverage of two key sporting events.
According to Wirtualne Media, they were the Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and KSW 66 martial arts gala in Szczecin. It adds that in a message on social media Viaplay said: “Last night we experienced technical problems during the KSW gala. They affected the final fight of the evening. We sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience”.
Speaking to Wirtualne Media, Viaplay said that the technical problems that occurred during the KSW gala are now being analysed in detail. However, it gave no indication if it is preparing to offer its customers any compensation. In previous instances, it lowered its subscription fee for the following month.
Broadband TV News notes that Viaplay was launched in Poland last August and has gained a foothold in what is a highly competitive market.
This has been in large part thanks to securing agreements with leading operators such as Vectra, UPC Polska and Play.
