Mainly targeting DTT operators using statistical multiplexing (STATMUX) in their broadcast chain, the new update provides Variable Bitrate (VBR) insertion guaranteeing that viewers do not see quality changes when local advertising is inserted.
Based on the ABR technology, this innovative feature allows Enensys’’ splicer AdsEdge to automatically select the right video chunk depending on the available bitrate. Aiming at providing its customers an end-to-end solution, Enensys also integrated a transcoding capability for its CampaignManager to automatically generate VBR-compatible packages for the ad spots provided by advertisers or sales houses.
Commenting on the update, Nicolas Guyot, AdsReach product manager at Enensys, said: “We developed this new feature in partnership with DTT operators willing to preserve their broadcast quality while making their ad inventories available for the largest number of advertisers. Our goal is always to provide a solution enabling local advertising insertion while preserving the broadcast quality, without the need for reencoding or adding delays in the distribution”.
