Netflix sets new records in Poland

January 12, 2022 09.56 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Close to half of internet users in Poland are now accessing Netflix.

According to data published by Wirtualne Media> on the basis of Mediapanel, it has 13,344,588 users (web and mobile app) and a reach of 44.90% in December, placing it firmly in top spot among VOD and OTT services.

Second placed player.pl had only a third as many (4,688,030 and 15.71% respectively), followed by wp.pl (4,523,688 and 15.22%), HBO (3,831,948 and 12.89%) and cda.pl – VOD and OTT (3,375,756 and 11.36%).

Wirtualne Media notes that Netflix has been the most popular VOD and OTT service in Poland since the second half of 2019 and enjoyed particularly strong growth in the last few months of 2021.

Viaplay, which was launched in Poland last summer, also saw strong growth last month thanks to showing KSW (mixed martial arts) and being promoted by UPC Polska.
