Discovery and Telia extend their long-term partnership in Estonia.

As a result, from this month Telia subscribers in the country will be able to watch HGTV (Home & Garden TV) in HD alongside other channels from Discovery’s portfolio as part of the extended package provided by Telia. The channels include Discovery Channel, Eurosport 1 HD, Eurosport 2 HD, TLC, Animal Planet HD, DTX HD, Food Network, ID HD, Discovery Science HD and Travel Channel.

Commenting on the development, Ekaterina Mihajlovic, distribution and business development director for Discovery NEE & Turkey, said: “We are very happy to develop our long-standing partnership with Telia even further and offer HGTV HD as a new channel from our portfolio to Telia’s subscribers in Estonia. HGTV is one of our flagship lifestyle channels from our premium Discovery portfolio and we are very excited to be able to offer it to Telia’s customers who can now enjoy our newest and most popular renovation and restoration shows and productions”.

Birjo Kiik, head of TV and multimedia content for Telia, added: “Discovery channels have well-established audience in Estonia and Telia offers its customers various Discovery channels in its basic and extended TV packages. We are happy that the partnership with Discovery will continue and that HGTV will reach our customers already in January, offering new and exciting entertainment to the local viewer”.
