The Orange board has shortlisted three candidates to replace Stephane Richard as the company’s CEO.
Quoting two unnamed sources and adding that the French newspaper Liberation was the first to report on the matter, Reuters says that they are Ramon Fernandez, currently Orange’s CFO; Christel Heydemann, Schneider Electric’s head for Europe, who also sits on Orange’s board; and Frank Boulben, chief revenue officer at Verizon.
Reuters adds that although the board has set itself until the end of this month to make the appointment, it may find it difficult to meet the deadline.
Furthermore, it could be overruled by the French state, which has a controlling stake in Orange and power to also make an appointment.
Richard has been forced to leave the post after 11 years following a court ruling that found him guilty of misusing public funds. He continues to maintain his innocence.
