The Serbian incumbent made a profit of more than €100 million in 2021, according to its CEO Vladimir Lucic.
Speaking to Tanjug and quoted by Capital, he added this was double the amount in the previous year and the company is on track to make a profit of more than €400 million in 2026. Lucic also said that Telekom Srbija will start financing the first start-ups from its fund in the first three months of this year.
Following the allocation of frequencies, it will also this year start introducing 5G services. Furthermore, it plans to expand its activities to Switzerland and Germany and invest even more in the production and internationalisation of domestic films and series.
Lucic in addition pointed out that Telekom Srbija had signed three important contracts in 2021, namely with Vodafone, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Tatjana Matic, Serbia’s minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications, has told Tanjug that the auction for 5G frequencies will take place in the first part of this year. She added that it was likely to raise around €150 million for the Serbian state.
