Average spend on telecom services in Spain was slightly lower in the first two quarters of this year comparted to the same period in 2020.
According to the regulator CNMC, that for quadruple and quintuple packages was €2.5 and €2.8 lower respectively. The fall for quadruple packages was part of a general trend, with the average spend of €47.6 compared to one of €54.2 in the same period in 2017.
CNMC notes that almost four out of 10 households had fixed and mobile telephony, internet and pay-TV services contracted in the second quarter of this year. On the other hand, a third had contracted fixed telephony, mobile and internet. Only 8% of households had exclusively telephone services, and 13% mobile telephony plus internet.
Fibre continued to expand and was present in 75% of the homes that have fixed broadband. At the same time, ADSL connections fell and were present in 17% of households with fixed broadband.
