More than 7,000 homes in Petershagen-Eggersdorf, Brandenburg are to benefit from gigabit connectivity when Liberty Global commences fibre operations in Germany.
The operator of Unitymedia before its merger into Vodafone has established Liberty Networks Germany with InfraVia Capital as a 50/50 joint-venture. Under the helloFiber brand, the company will now carry out demand aggregation to identify areas where the rollout will be deployed.
“With Liberty Networks Germany, we are now focusing on pure fibre rollout looking at cities in areas not served by gigabit. The aim is to quickly create opportunities for individual fibre connections as a reliable partner for municipalities,” said Robert Dunn, Managing Director, Connectivity Investments at Liberty Global.
The Brandenburg project is scheduled for completion in the next two years.
