The Ukrainian regulator National Council has renewed five licences held by 1+1 Media Group, one of the country’s leading broadcasters.
In a statement, 1+1 says that the move was in connection with the resignation of Igor Kolomoisky from its supervisory board. It adds that “the statement on his resignation from the supervisory board was signed in May 2021, in September a general meeting of participants was held, where they considered and satisfied this decision and drew up a protocol. In October, according to the Law on Television and Radio Broadcasting, the documents were submitted to the regulator.
“There have been no changes in the ownership structure of Studio 1 + 1 TV and Radio Company LLC (1 + 1 TV channel)”.
Broadband TV News notes that Kolomoisky is a billionaire entrepreneur with interests across a range of sectors in Ukraine.
