Andrus Hiiepuu has been appointed the CEO and chairman of the management board of Elisa Estonia, effective the beginning of this month.
During his time at Elisa, he has been the marketing director and then managed the business and private client units as a member of the management board for various periods. He takes over from Sami Seppänen, who has managed the company for over 20 years.
Commenting on the development, Matti Mattila, CEO of Elisa Corporation, said: “We sincerely thank Sami for his decades of excellent work in leading and strengthening Elisa Estonia’s operations in Estonia”.
Vesa-Pekka Nikula, chairman of the supervisory board at Elisa Estonia, added: “How successful, effective and adaptable Elisa Estonia has been for decades is impressive. Andrus Hiiepuu is now taking over the position of Elisa Estonia’s Business Manager and Elisa Estonia’s CEO. He has already strongly proved his leadership in Elisa”.
Hiiepuu successfully managed Elisa’s merger with TV services provider Starman and led it into Elisa’s digital entertainment business, which today offers innovative streaming services and has also entered the original series production market. “Today, Elisa is no longer just a telecom company, but a successful entertainment company that brings high-quality TV and tent services to people,” said Hiiepuu, adding that Elisa’s success is ensured by the ability to react very quickly to market changes, flexibility in working methods and an agile business culture.
