BBC iPlayer is now available on PlayStation 5, having been added to the games platform ahead of the Christmas holiday period.
The BBC streaming service is found in the ‘all apps’ section of the media tab, which adds iPlayer to the apps library and makes it available to use directly from the PlayStation home screen.
“We’re always working to make iPlayer available across as many platforms as we can, and we’re delighted to add the PS5 to the 15,000+ devices where BBC iPlayer is already available,” said Neil Hall, head of product, BBC iPlayer in a blog post.
As a UHD-capable device, viewers will be able to watch Christmas shows The Girl Before and A Very British Scandal in the format, assuming their TV is UHD compatible. Some of the year’s biggest shows including drama Showtrial, thriller Vigil, and Sir David Attenborough’s natural history series The Mating Game are also available in the UHD format.
