Türk Telekom has become the first operator in Turkey to test 25G PON technology.
Working with Nokia in a trial at the Türk Telekom Ankara Innovation Centre, Data transport speeds of 20 Gbps one-way and 29.1 Gbps bidirectional per second.
The telco notes that 25G PON technology enables data download and upload at high speeds from a single fibre.
With the technology, the high bandwidth required for high-definition 3D 360-degree videos, online games, virtual reality, 16K TV viewing, augmented reality and smart applications are provided more efficiently, and the needs of end users are met.
