Although terrestrial broadcasting still dominates TV viewing in the Czech Republic, IPTV is making steady gains.
According to the Association of Television Organisation (ATO), quoting data produced in conjunction with Nielsen Admosphere, 45% of households received terrestrial (DVB-T2) services as of the third quarter. This compared to 45.7% in both the first and second quarters.
Meanwhile, 19.7% opted for satellite TV (compared to 18.9% in Q1 and 18.2% in Q2) and 13.4% cable (14.5% in both Q1 and Q2). IPTV came in at 21.9%, up from 20.9% in Q1 and 21.6% in Q2.
The research also shows that 83% of Czech homes currently have an internet connection.
