NBC Sports will remain the Premier League’s official broadcast partner in the United States until 2028 in a record £2 billion deal.
It follows an extension of the agreement between the Comcast-owned broadcaster and the Premier League that has been in place since 2013. Coverage has been spread across NBC, USA Network, NBCSN, NBC Sports digital and Peacock. Since the Comcast acquisition of Sky in 2018, NBC has shared some coverage with Sky Spirts in the UK.
Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive, said: “This new agreement is also a testament to the hard work of production, marketing and other areas of our company, as well as the tremendous partnership that has been established with the leadership and club owners of the Premier League.
NBC Sports’ Premier League Mornings programming is now a real institution among supporters in America, with fans getting up early to come together and cheer on their favourite club, week in, week out.
The announcement of the new US broadcast deal follows the Exclusion Order agreement with UK Government relating to the three-year renewal of the Premier League’s UK broadcast deal. It means the Premier League was able to rollover the existing contracts on their initial terms.
£1.6 billion of broadcast revenue is invested in lower-league and non-league clubs, the grassroots game and communities.
