BT has confirmed the England cricket team’s tour of Australia will be shown exclusively live on BT Sport.
The Ashes are part of a renewal of the contract between the telco and Cricket Australia. It includes men’s and women’s home cricket internationals until 2025, including the exclusive broadcast of four England tours over the next four years.
The new deal also includes the Women’s Ashes series in 2022.
BT also has the rights to the tour of the West Indies in March 2022 for ODI and T20 matches and to international matches held in New Zealand.
After this year’s Ashes, Australia will take on New Zealand and Sri Lanka in a white ball series.
However, rather than send its own commentary team, BT will anchor in London and rely on the local broadcasters in Australia.
