CityFibre has now passed its one-millionth home in its nationwide Full Fibre rollout.
The UK’s largest full-fibre platform is working with 30 Internet Service Providers, including Vodafone, TalkTalk and Zen, that sell directly to the consumer. A number of small independent ISPs are also on board.
The operator is spending £4 billion to reach up to 8 million homes by 2025, representing a third of the UK market.
Greg Mesch, Chief Executive Officer of CityFibre, said: “With a million homes now able to access our Full Fibre connectivity and more added every day, we are focused on supporting our consumer ISP partners to drive service take-up. We look forward to collaborating with our partners in the coming months to design compelling new packages and initiatives, and to continue raising awareness of the benefits of Full Fibre.”
According to ThinkBroadband, this would put CityFibre ahead of Virgin Media in the rollout of fibre-to-the-premises, but still behind Openreach. It says the figures vary from its own plotting which has registered 250,000 fewer homes that may be attributable to them not yet having been released to ISPs.
