TV ad revenues amounted to €415.8 million in Spain in the first quarter of this year.
According to the regulator CNMC, this was 10.7% less than in the same period in 2020.
At the same time, the two main TV groups Mediaset and Atresmedia accounted for 80% of TV ad revenues.
Total TV and radio revenues in Q1 amounted to €910.4 million, excluding subsidies. This was 9% less than a year earlier, while pay-TV revenues fell by 6.5% to €511.6 million.
During the first quarter, the average TV consumption was 3 hours and 47 minutes per person per day.
For the first time, DTT television consumption fell below 75% (74.9%), compared to the increase in cable TV and IPTV services (23.7%).
This was due to an increase in pay-TV subscriptions through fibre networks.
