The Czech cable operator Nej.cz is close to acquiring Smart Comp., whose interests include the ISP Netbox and IPTV service Kuki.
Quoting E15, Digizone reports that the transaction, worth hundreds of millions of Czech crowns, will have to go through antitrust proceedings and is expected to be completed in a matter of months.
It adds that Nej.cz is already one of the top four operators in the country and has recently merged six purchased internet providers, namely CentroNet, Freebone, itself, LTnet, SportkNeT and Telly, into its business.
Nej.cz is part of the Kaprain Group, while Smart Comp., which has around 300,000 subscribers, lists Pavel Vavra and Marek Bukal as its two main owners.
