VICE TV is to shutter its linear channel in France on November 22, ending a two-year exclusivity with Canal+.
The documentary channel is moving to a new strategy that will “diversify its content distribution and licensing model”. VICE TV has said it remains keen to develop partnerships with Canal+ or any other players in the French market.
VICE is beginning to look at other distribution options, for example, in the United States it has an agreement with Samsung Plus TV, where it is being distributed as one of its FAST ( free, ad-supported streaming TV) channels.
