The Ukrainian national DTT platform operator Zeonbud has selected Eutelsat’s 9 degrees East position to extend its broadcast coverage.
Zeonbud was launched in 2010 and currently distributes Ukraine’s 33 main TV channels. It reaches around 40% of the population and covers 90% of the country.
Through a long-term contract with Eutelsat it will use the 9B satellite over Ukraine to feed its DTT network, and potentially extend its offer to a DTH service beyond the reach of its existing tower infrastructure.
Commenting on the agreement, Philippe Oliva Eutelsat’s CCO, said: “We are excited to welcome Zeonbud with its high-quality content offer as part of our line-up on Eutelsat 9B, further consolidating our position in the dynamic Ukrainian Broadcast market”.
Irina Alyabyeva, Zeonbud’s CEO, added: “We are delighted to partner with Eutelsat and leverage the 9 degrees East position to ensure the best quality of service delivery of our of national channels to our viewers, and access the optionality of extending our reach through alternative distribution models”.
