Jury for HbbTV Awards 2021 announced

The HbbTV Association, has announced that the jury has been appointed for the HbbTV Awards 2021.

“We are excited about the panel of international high-profile industry executives and experts who will assess the entries of this year’s HbbTV Awards. The strong interest by industry players in taking part in the competition reflects the important role of the HbbTV specifications in creating a compelling viewing experience across all platforms,” said Vincent Grivet, Chairman of the HbbTV Association.

The jury members are:
Robert Briel, Broadband TV News
Paul Gray, Omdia
Vincent Grivet, Salto
Marc Hankmann, Freelance Journalist
Madeleine Noland, ATSC
Jason Power, Dolby
Xavier Redon, Cellnex

The categories for the HbbTV Awards 2021 are:
Best HbbTV scale-up project
Best technology innovation in an HbbTV product or service
Best tool or product for HbbTV service development or delivery
Best individual contribution to the HbbTV Association
Judges’ award “HbbTV newcomer of the year”
The entries will be judged on their execution, impact and innovation. A shortlist of finalists will be put forward to the jury who will select the winners.

The prizes will be awarded at a prestigious ceremony on November 24, 2021. The event forms part of the 9th HbbTV Symposium and Awards, taking place as an in-person event on November 24-25 in Paris, France. All finalists are invited to attend the awards ceremony.
