Most Netflix subscribers in the Netherlands will have to pay more for the service with immediate effect.
Netflix is now charging an additional €1 and €2 a month for the Standard and Premium package respectively, with only the basic package remaining unchanged at €7.99.
Standard subscriptions offer content in HD and Premium in 4K, while basic subscriptions have lower image quality.
The basic, Standard and Premium subscriptions now cost €7.99, €11.99 and €15.99 a month respectively.
This is the first price increase in the Netherlands for four years. Netflix counts around three million subscribers in the country, while runner-up Videoland (owned by RTL) has around one million.
