Deutsche Telekom is looking to recruit 2,000 professionals in the Western Balkans to help in the construction of digital infrastructure in Germany.
Capital reports that a group of 14 Telekom directors recently spent a few days in the Bosnian city of Banja Luka in which they held dozens of meetings with local companies whose employees could participate in a large-scale project, namely the connecting 30 million households and companies to broadband internet by 2030.
It adds that one of the reasons Banja Luka was chosen for the meeting was because Borislav Tadic, one of the VPs of Telekom, was born and raised in the city.
Capital quotes Tadic as saying that Telekom is looking for partners and will not “steal” employees but rather hire them for the duration of the project.
He also said that some pilot projects have been agreed and work could start on them at the beginning of next year.
