One year after the completion of the UPC Romania acquisition, 30% of all Vodafone customers in the country were using fixed, mobile and TV services.
Furthermore, according to Nedim Baytorun, consumer business unit director, speaking in a wide-ranging interview with Business Insider, 41% of Vodafone Romania customers today use the company’s fixed services.
Baytorun added that it is obvious Romanians prefer a one-stop shop for their telecom services because it is more convenient and cost effective.
He also said that Vodafone TV, launched a year ago, has brought Romanian consumers a revolutionary TV service combining interactivity, streaming apps and digital cable into a platform with the richest content.
Baytorun in addition spoke about Vodafone Romania’s recently introduced simplified and flexible subscription for fixed internet and television services, which he described as a first for the market. He also spoke about the recently launched Hit Play, the first fully digital music show in Romania.
Baytorun noted that the telecom industry “plays an enormous role in economic growth and social progress in Romania”, just as it does in Albania and Turkey, the two other countries he has worked in.
