United Group’s recent failure to buy TS Media from Telekom Slovenije was down to a political decision.
Speaking in a debate on the free market and quoted by N1 TV, the group’s founder Dragan Solak added that it had offered €2 million more for TS Media than any other bidder before the Slovenian incumbent decided to stop the sale.
Although Solak said that Slovenia is a country of incredible opportunities, unfortunately some have not yet materialised and the state still plays a strong role in the economy.
High taxes make it difficult for United Group to open a regional centre in the country despite it being cheaper than others.
United Group has so far invested €1.5 billion in Greece, which will see GDP growth of 8% this year. “If Slovenia does not wake up, all the money will go there”.
