Valentin Areh has been appointed the acting director of the public broadcaster TV Slovenija for a maximum period of six months, effective September 21.
He replaces Natalija Gorscak, who was dismissed from the post on August 20.
Commenting on the appointment, Andrej Grah Whatmough, general manager of RTV Slovenija, said: “I think Dr. Valentin Areh is a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of acting director of Television Slovenia, especially in the current situation, when the intensive process of preparation of PPN and FN for 2021 is taking place, in the tougher competitive and financial conditions. Dr. Valentin Areh has extensive experience in the field of media and especially television. He has been employed at RTV Slovenija for more than 10 years, and before that he worked for several commercial televisions”.
