IPTV now accounts for over half of pay-TV connections in Slovenia.
According to the latest figures published by the regulator AKOS, IPTV’s share of the market continues to increase and stood at 56.9% as of the end of Q1 this year.
Meanwhile, all other technologies recorded either a decrease in their market shares or stagnation.
Cable TV, DTH and MMDS accounted for 37.3%, 5% and 0.9% of connections as of March 31.
Other key stats include the penetration of fixed broadband services by household increasing by 0.6% in the first quarter to 85.4%; fixed broadband penetration by population increasing to 33.4%; and growth in the penetration of quad-play services (to 40.4%) at the expense of triple (37.3%) and double (7.8%) packages.
Also, 44.4% of broadband users opeted for services offering access speeds of at least 100 Mbps.
