Serbia Broadband (SBB) and other operators reportedly continue to be excluded from Telekom Srbija’s cable infrastructure.
According to Danas, in the period January 23- May 27, 2020 alone, SBB, which is part of United Group, submitted 280 requests for access to the infrastructure but only received four approvals.
Quoting SBB, it adds that the most common reason for the negative response, more precisely in 258 cases, was lack of available capacity.
According to Serbia’s Law on Electronic Communications, Telekom Srbija, as an operator with significant market power, is obliged to publish a standard offer and allow other operators to use its infrastructure.
Although SBB complained to the regulator RATEL in March 2020, the latter only began an investigation after the (Covid-19) state of emergency and RATEL’s last action was to meet with the representatives of both sides in July this year.
